The Lincoln County Sheriff's Department is actively accepting applications for possible employment. The applications will be accepted from certified officers or certified by waiver  (Applications sent upon request or by clicking on link). APPLICATION

Entry level salary is competitive based on years of experience and advanced training hours accepted by DPS.

 
DEPUTY I Uncertified Deputy or certified with 100 hours of advanced training.

$ 18.4843 per hour.

DEPUTY II Certified with 0-24 months experience Law Enforcement and 100 hours of advanced training.

$ 19.8521 per hour

DEPUTY III Certified with 24-60 months experience Law Enforcement and 200 hours of advanced training.

$ 21.2313 per hour

DEPUTY IV Certified with 60-120 months experience Law Enforcement and 400 hours of advanced training.

$ 22.6041 per hour

DEPUTY V Certified with 120 months experience Law Enforcement and over 500 hours of advanced training.

$ 23.9912 per hour

Benefits included:

The Lincoln County Sheriff's jurisdiction is 4,859 square miles, with a population of 19,411 (2000 census).  Lincoln county includes the communities of Carrizozo, Ruidoso, Ruidoso Downs, Capitan, Lincoln, The Hondo Valley, White Oaks and Corona.
